Hockey and Netball and Brownies! Oh my!

The whole of Year 5 travelled to Royal High School in Bath on Wednesday 22ndMarch for a day of sporting activities. After a picnic lunch upon arrival, the 36 girls, accompanied by Mr Baker, Mrs Price, Mrs Hodson and Mrs Thomas, were split into 4 teams and spent the afternoon taking part in a number of netball and hockey matches against their GDST counterparts. Despite some inclement weather, the girls really enjoyed themselves and proved they were a determined and hard-working group. Success was found on the hockey pitch and the netball court, with a number of wins and closely-contested draws in each sport. Upon completion, the girls were welcomed in the dining hall with some homemade cloudy lemonade, fruit and chocolate brownies —cue thumbs up all round! We would like to thank Royal High School for their hospitality and we look forward to hosting them for another day of sporting activities in 12 months’ time.
