Holiday Reading Challenge

oliday Reading Challenge

Nature novels, happy news stories, song lyrics and wintery poems were the themes of the four reading tasks that Years 7 to 9 could complete for the Holiday Reading Challenge.  The English Department very much enjoyed reading about the different stories that had been read, and how well the students could spot metaphors in song lyrics; a particular favourite was Katy Perry’s ‘I am Titanium.’  All the entrants received a certificate and all were entered into a raffle to win a copy of ‘The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse’ by Charlie Mackesy, which is such a wonderful book.

Congratulations to Rhiannon E-B in Year 8, who won the raffle!  Keep reading everybody!
