We are delighted to announce that Lydia P in Year 11, a dedicated and loyal member of the Eco Team has recently become a Youth Ambassador for the Transform Our World Youth Summit that will be taking place in the same two weeks as the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
This is a huge achievement as Lydia will be the student to represent Wales at the Youth Summit. The selection committee praised her excellent application which they said, ‘blew them away’ and that they are tremendously excited to have such a dynamic and inspirational student on board.
As part of her role as the Youth Ambassador for Wales she is working with a team of ambassadors from across the UK to design, organise and promote the events and content of the summit. The summit is intended to spread information and promote action on Climate Change and other ecological issues through activities that young people can take part in online. She has already presented in the Local Conference of Youth Summit to young people and leaders of organisations and charities on the events they can get involved in and you can find out more about the event at Transform Our World Youth Summit (transform-our-world.org)
Lydia will be leading section assemblies after half term for the Senior School. Within the presentation she will be highlighting her ambassador role, how it links to the COP26 agenda and fingers crossed any progress given the global negotiations.
