On Wednesday 29th November, a bright and frosty winter day, the Hywelian Guild held their traditional Advent service in the Holy Cross Parish Church in Cowbridge. A group of girls from Year 7 travelled from school to the service, and they loved seeing the huge variety of Christmas trees that fill the church along every wall. The trees have been decorated by schools, local organisations and businesses in the Cowbridge area, for a Christmas Tree Festival that the church holds every year. Following the service, over 30 Hywelians, along with Mrs Davis and Mrs Scott, crossed Cowbridge High Street to the Bear Hotel, where they enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch. It was a lovely occasion and a fitting way to start the festive season.
