On the morning of Tuesday 23rd March, we were privileged to be joined by alumna Lieutenant Fran Howes, Commanding Officer on HMS Blazer, to talk to students about her career in the Royal Navy. Fran joined us live from a mission off the Cornwall and Devon coastline and the sea was rather choppy but Fran delivered a very interesting outline of life at sea. Fran graduated with an English degree from the University of York and now her daily work has extended her skills into the realms of technology and maths. It was a fascinating and we hope to welcome Fran back to Howell’s in person again soon.
