National Urdd Dance Competition

During the half term holidays, our Competition Dance Squad entered into the pre-lims of the National Urdd Dance Competition held at The Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.
The girls performed with exception on the day. Amazing comments were received about the HSL dancers; their technical competency, level of professionalism and mature style of dancing was received from the organisers. Parents were equally impressed with the elegant grace, natural flair and stylistic choreography interpreted by the dancers. This is the first year we have auditioned for an elite group to represent Howell’s School and the girls were flawless, developing a great image and setting a high standard for dance here at Howell’s. I look forward to next academic year where Dance will be a great highlight to the sports calendar.

Congratulations to the following girls for their fantastic performance:

Elan J (Year 8)
Meg G (Year 8)
Mathilda T (Year 8)
Isabella M (Year 8)
Niamh S (Year 8)
Eleanor J (Year 9)
Georgia K (Year 9)

Auditions will be held in the autumn term for the 2018-2019 Elite Dance Squad. More information will be provided in September.

Students who enjoys dancing but have not taken part this year in Dance clubs or events, should contact Miss Batchelor to be informed of future dance matters.
