Netball News

The two U15's teams played St Teilo's, Llanishen and Whitchurch in a tournament at Llanishen on 8th November. Howell's had excellent matches against St Teilo's, where even their U16's Welsh Netball player Centre was no match for our strong and well rehearsed attacking end. Defence were equally as strong will Robyn and Issy intercepting passes from the oppositions attacking play. Score 16-4(w) and 5-4(w), Players of the match were Annabelle and Katie. The match against Llanishen also was a highlight for the A's winning 13-1 and the B's just losing 6-4.

On Tuesday 14th November, the U15's were taken to Whitchurch High to play probably their longest friendly of 40mins. This really did test our girls levels of fitness, and won both matches winning A's 13-6 and B's 13-12. Players of the Match were Maisie and Annabelle. Well played everyone!

Two U13 teams attended the Cardiff Games tournament on Monday 13th November, alongside over 15 schools from the Cardiff area. The girls took a little while to gel as many have not played together before. After the first couple of matches both teams started to find their feet. Some excellent court play was starting to show, with fantastic development of play up the court. Sommer got the hang of her shooting technique with Olivia playing the centre court area with clean accurate passes.Well done girls – excellent exposure to lots of netball matches, all the players improved greatly throughout the tournament.

We saw a great win for the Year 7 A netball team against a tough Plasmawr on Thursday 16th November. After a slow start, the team picked up momentum in the second quarter with the game ending 5-1. Well done to the whole team, player of the match went to Ella R.
The B team put Plasmawr under enormous pressure, playing 100% throughout the game, going for every ball and interception. Although greatly fought, the final score was 6-0 to Plasmawr. Player of the match was Hana E.
