Our students thoroughly enjoyed being a part of a historical moment on Friday as King Charles III visited Llandaff village for a service in the cathedral. To remember the occasion, 8R has produced a brilliant write-up of the day's events.
"Today, senior school students collected our Welsh flags and Union Jacks and met up in the Headmistress’s Garden. We walked towards Llandaff and lined the road waiting for the King. While we waited, students waved their flags and created an atmosphere of excitement.
After about an hour and a half, we saw a helicopter which made us think that the King was nearby. Range Rovers arrived accompanied by police motorbikes, and then later, the King arrived. Amelia. M was excited as the King pointed at her and waved. Georgia.C was also overjoyed that the King waved at her too. Trixie.P and Lujain.E were also excited when the King looked in their direction. There was the singing of various songs, such as the Welsh National Anthem, 'We Will Rock You', and the British National Anthem too, with occasional Mexican waves as well.
When we returned to school, we went to the sports hall to watch the service that was taking place at Llandaff Cathedral.
The morning was a memorable and historic occasion, which none of us will ever forget!"
