On Tuesday 1st May, Year 5 left school for their residential trip to Plymouth. They explored Buckfast Abbey and debated over the dissolution of the monasteries during Henry VIII’s reign. They walked in Francis Drake’s footsteps on Plymouth Hoe and climbed to the top of Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse. The girls braved the shark tank when they stayed overnight in the National Marine Aquarium. They had a boat tour around Plymouth Sound, getting the chance to see warships and submarines, and learning about Plymouth during WWII. To finish off the trip, they boarded the Golden Hind in Brixham Harbour and enjoyed piping hot chips before heading home. Thank you to all of the staff who accompany the trip.
