This week, Mrs Richards began Year 10 and Year 11’s English lessons with a seasonal poetry starter activity, challenging the students to create a snapshot in just five minutes. Here are just a few of their poems:
Sommer B, Year 11
The autumn leaves fall
Like confetti was thrown down.
Full of bright colours.
Erin D, Year 11
Falling autumn leaves
Scatter red, yellow, orange -
Dancing in the breeze.
Becky L, Year 11
Autumn colours shine -
Amber leaves crunched underfoot
Pile by my doorstep.
Erin W, Year 11
Autumn has arrived.
With each sunset, days shorten:
Shadows loom longer.
Ellie M, , Year 11
Landscapes change colour,
The nights are getting longer -
Apple harvest time.
Blythe E, Year 10
The trees are ageing.
Their branches limp and flailing;
The final leaves fall.
Connie C, Year 10
Spectral happenings
Each golden leaf twirling down
The cycle of life.
The next is from Leigha S, Year 10
Cherry and amber
Sweep the landscape beyond sight.
A new start has come.
Well done everyone!
