On Saturday 1 April, music and song filled every inch of Llandaff Cathedral for this year's Spring Concert.
The evening began with a awe-inspiring rendition of Handel’s Zadok the Priest, followed by a miscellany of musical items from the Junior Competition Choir, Youth Choir, Senior Choir, College Choir and Senior Orchestra. After the interval, a breathtaking performance of Mozart’s beautiful Requiem gave our students the opportunity to perform in a large scale choral works, with an orchestra and choir that were both augmented by alumni, staff, parents and friends; it was a wonderful example of the whole school community coming together.
It was the final concert for our Year 13 students and we wish them every success for the future and thank them warmly for their unstinting support and for sharing their musical talents with us. We are extremely fortunate to have close links with the Cathedral and we are very grateful to the Dean and Chapter for allowing us to hold our Spring Concert in this splendid building. Many thanks to Mrs Phillips, the Music Department and everyone who worked so hard to make the concert a resounding success.
