HOCKEY
Ffion H (Yr 10) and Lily R (Yr 9) have both been selected to represent Wales in the U.16 Euro 5s tournament in France from 11th-15th July. Both girls will be off to France this weekend for training and a practice match in readiness for the tournament. This is a massive achievement and we wish them both well and hope they have a fantastic time.
FENCING
Louise S. (Y11) has gone from strength to strength in the épée scene, finally gaining her British stripes. This year she has started fencing in Womens' Senior Events (in addition to Cadet and Junior) to gain valuable experience. She has been much more successful than anticipated and has risen over 200 places in the Senior Rankings since Easter, achieving 27th in the Birmingham International, 24th in the British Senior Championships and 6th in the Women's Elite Epée in April; 5th in the Luton Open and 5th in the Hampshire Open in May; and a stunning 2nd in Saturday's Chichester Open, where she lost in the final by just 1 point. Louise has been invited to fence on the Senior Women's Welsh regional team in July at the prestigious Winton Cup competition at Nottingham Trent University and as part of the U19 Welsh squad for the School Games at Loughborough University in September. Well done Louise!
DANCING
Jasmine W (Yr 7) and her dance partner travelled to Essex last weekend to take part in her first ever U.16 Latin Category. The competition, "Stars Of The Future" covers the whole of the UK plus some European entries. They were absolutely on fire and were placed 13th out of 62 couples. This is an outstanding achievement for dancers of their age, competing against couples with several years more experience.
