Sisters Lucy and Jess M (Year 7 and Year 5) spent last week hitting the slopes in Les Crosets, Switzerland. The girls had been selected to take part in the Welsh Alpine Championships, and enjoyed four days of intensive race training followed by two days for the BASS races.
It was a fantastic experience for them to race against international racers of such a high skill level and on the same piste that Olympians were racing on the day before. Most of the racers involved in the Championships regularly attend residential race camps and will live in the Alps all winter doing the race circuit, but Lucy and Jess showed physical and mental commitment, determination and guts, achieving fantastic results. Well done, girls!
