Last Thursday 9th November, Howell's College hosted its third Howell’s Lecture of 2017-18. Students from Years 11-13 were joined by Israeli students Idan and Maayan, who gave an informative presentation on life in Israeli today for a typical teenager.
They gave an insight into family and school life and talked about the geography of Israel, its system of government and its major festivals. Our students were then invited to ask questions, and a very lively discussion on the position of Israel in the Middle East and on the world stage ensued. The Israeli students are visiting a number of British schools during their stay in the UK and commented that this was the most intellectually stimulating question time that they had encountered here.
Our next Honours Lecture is on the 1st February 2018, when we will be joined by Dawn Mitchell-Williams from Cardiff Met University who will be talking about Sports Development.
