Visit from the Japan Society of the UK

On Friday 23rd November, volunteers from the Japan Society of the UK visited Howell’s  to run a session with Year 8Q to support their English Literature study of Across the Nightingale Floor, a novel set in medieval Japan. They also held another session at lunch time for all of Year 8 to explore Japanese culture.

The girls had an amazing time learning Japanese phrases and how to count to ten in Japanese, and they got to try their hands at Japanese calligraphy and origami.
