Welsh Schools Pistol Championships

The Welsh Schools Pistol Championships were held on Thursday 1st November in Ffairfach, Carmarthenshire, and three girls from Howell's competed in the junior age category which is for students in Year 6-8: Amber P, Abi S and Alberta G.

All shot in a qualification match of 20 shots each,  with these scores counting towards the team score as well as their individual score. In the team match, the girls won silver medals for coming second.

From the qualification shoot the top 8 progress to a final, which works on a progressive knockout system. In qualification there were 16 competitors. Alberta came 9th  and Abi and Amber progressed to the final. Abi finished in 4th place and Amber finished in 2nd, winning a silver medal and a place at the British Shooting National final which will be held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in January.
