Year 5 and 6 Cross Country Oct 2018

It was a busy cross-country challenge at Llandaff Fields on Thursday 4th October, with 60 girls from Year 5 and 6 joining a number of local schools to take part in Heat 1 of the Sport Cardiff event. Year 5 were up first and performed very well given the demanding terrain and lengthy course. Celeste R (4th), Lara O (6th), Francesca B (11th) and Alice W (20th) were the top 4 finishers for Howell's in a race that saw 29 runners from Howell's (and over 100 girls in total) compete. Well done to all members of Year 5 for their determined running and hard work!

After seeing how it was done by their younger schoolmates, Year 6 took to the extended track. Thirty-one members of the year group took part in a race that again featured over 100 competitors. Outstanding performances were headlined by Olivia C (1st), Tallula C (3rd), Isabella P (5th) and Georgie H (10th). All staff in attendance were hugely impressed once again by the girls for their efforts! The Cardiff & Vale Final takes place next month and the top 4 finishers from each year group will be representing the school at Trelai Park in Ely.
Well done everyone!
