On Friday 16th May the sun shone over Howell’s for what was an action packed day. At 3.00pm the Pink Ribbon Walk in aid of Breast Cancer took place. The nursery girls were the first to complete the course led by brilliant Year 6 guides. Junior School girls, Senior School and College Students, staff, parents and grandparents also completed the walk. Howell’s and Breast Cancer Care were overwhelmed by the support and would like to thank everyone for their generous donations, raising £700 for such a worthwhile charity.
Howell’s then welcomed members of the crew from the prestigious HMS Dragon warship. Their netball team played Howell’s own senior netball team who beat the HMS Dragon team 21-15. Following the game everyone enjoyed a delicious vintage tea in the dining room.
Finally, the intrepid team of staff and parents departed to complete an epic bike ride from Land’s End to Llandaff in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, in the memory of Ron House. The team arrived back to rapturous applause on Monday afternoon. Congratulations to everyone who took part in this gruelling challenge, a magnificent achievement. Thank you to everyone who supported the cyclists and helped raise almost £2000 to date! Click here to make a donation.
