Everyone at Howell’s School Llandaff is delighted that Ann Cotton, the founder of Camfed, an international non-profit organisation that invests in the education of girls in rural Africa, spoke on a panel at the U.S. – Africa summit, hosted by the White House, George W. Bush Institute and the U.S. State Department on Wednesday 6th August.
The panel discussed the importance of educating girls in Africa. Summit attendees included Michelle Obama, George W. and Laura Bush, as well as first spouses from nearly 30 countries. During the event, Reeta Roy of The MasterCard Foundation also unveiled a new book, “When you educate a girl, everything changes”', which profiles the success of MasterCard Foundation Scholars in Ghana supported by Camfed. A digital version of the book can be viewed at by clicking here.
