On Wednesday 13th May we welcomed to school Hywelians Dr. Judith Foy, Mrs. Sue Rayner and Mrs. Liz Williams, who had willingly volunteered to be interviewed by four Year 8 girls about their schooldays. These Hywelians were all at school in the 1950s and they answered questions from Aya, Morwenna, Martha and Ellie about a wide range of topics, ranging from discipline and punishments to food, the teachers and sport. Mrs. Williams was a boarder in Hazelwood so we learnt about that aspect of school life as well, and everyone enjoyed listening to stories of misdemeanours! After the interview session was over, the Hywelians were invited to lunch in Mrs. Davis's room. This was the third year of the Oral History Project and we are very grateful to these Hywelians for taking part. The interview was filmed and an edited version will be shown at the Founders' Friday assembly in July.
