Howell's team triumphs in Welsh Primary Schools' Pop Lacrosse Championships

Last Saturday, April 26th, twenty-four girls from Years 5 and 6 travelled to St John’s-On-The-Hill in Chepstow to compete in the Welsh Pop Lacrosse Championships. The girls divided into four squads, three representing Year 6 and one representing Year 5. Each squad played seven matches, all acquitting themselves extremely well in this mixed competition. St John’s-On-The-Hill have won this trophy several times in the last few years, but were undone on this occasion by our top Y ear 6 squad who triumphed in all seven matches, finishing as clear winners. This outstanding achievement means that Howell’s Junior School now move forward to represent Wales in the British Championships where they will face teams representing Scotland and all regions of England. These finals are taking place at Hertfordshire University on Sunday, June 15th.

This is the first time that a team from Howell’s has won the Welsh Championships and we wish them every success in the finals. Well done to all the girls who took part but especially Annabelle W (captain), Robyn D, Jess J, Sophie S, Lily R and Evie O, members of the winning team. We are very proud of you all!
