Nursery update, 2nd-6th June

The Nursery welcomed Miss Hughes to the team.

The girls worked on questioning skills and learned how to form their own questions, thinking about what they would like to find out.  During the discussions, one of the girls came up with a lovely idea: to introduce a question fairy which she has painted ready to go on the Nursery’s WOW board – what a fantastic idea!

On Tuesday morning the girls found ‘a note’ pinned to the classroom door. The girls guessed it was from Henry Morgan, the Welsh pirate, and they thought all week about all the Welsh words they know and learned to write/sound them out.

On Friday we remembered the World Wars and it was a very special time in the Nursery.  The girls looked at the special medals and pictures of Miss Hughes’ Uncle Harold, and at the special postcards which had been decorated especially for the soldiers to remind them of home.  Together they created a collaborative art piece ‘Poppies in the field’ which is in the entrance hall, and thought about those who are special to them.
