Last Wednesday, Year 7 set off to Cardiff Bay on their bonding trip. After settling in at the Urdd Centre, the three forms worked together to prepare their dramatic version of a Welsh folk story: Gelert, Blodeuwedd and Cantre Gwaelod. They are talented actresses: they mixed One Direction, goats and choreography to great effect and we had a lot of fun watching!
After tea, we went bowling with the Year 7 Prefects and, after a competitive night, returned to the Urdd Centre to participate in a music quiz. The Trotter girls won and will receive five House points to get their year off to a great start.
After enjoying breakfast and team-building activities the next morning, we headed to the Senedd for a tour to learn about our rights and responsibilities as Welsh citizens. One lucky group even met Carwyn Jones, the First Minister for Wales!
Then it was the most exhausting part of the trip: climbing at Boulders. Working in groups, the girls were supportive and cheered one another on to complete challenges, including the 'Leap of Faith'! Exhausted, we returned to school. It was a pleasure to accompany Year 7 on the trip and we were complimented on their behaviour by our tour guides and instructors. Well done!
