Death of Hywelian Centenarians

In Howell’s 150th year, there were three Hywelians who attained their centenary: Marguerite Desmond (née Milner), Mrs Gwen Jarvis (née Nicholas)  and  Mrs Constance Leigh (née Diamond).  Sadly Mrs Leigh (pictured) died on 9th December 2010. She started at Howell’s in 1918, left in 1926 and went on to gain a degree from Cardiff in Music and French. Her younger sister, Mavis, died in 1999. Mrs Jarvis died in December 2011.
