She has sent the following messages to Joyce Shields on Facebook:
"Travelled down to Gosport on 5th Nov and back on 23rd, have been
doing my level 2 training in the Solent, force 8 winds, passed my RYA
Day Skipper and then for level 3 spent 5 days on 4hr watch system
crossing to France and back again-455 nautical miles and 22 night
hours, on a 46 ton, 68 ft Clipper as preparation for competing in the
40,000 ml round the world Clipper Race August 2011 to July 2012. The
10 skippers and their boats & crew are to be announced in Southampton
on 30th April and my final level 4 training is booked for 4th June."
Later:
" Of the 10 boats, I have been assigned to "Singapore" and
will be the quartermaster - shopping in Qingdoa should be interesting!
We leave from Cowes at 4.30pm on 31st July."
