Nursery News, 24th-28th March

This week the Nursery girls have been on a voyage of discovery, charting the journey of a tiny seed to a tall tree.  It has been fascinating for them exploring their surroundings and taking note of the wonders of nature.  Their cress seeds have germinated and they have been looking at the roots using the magnifying glass and thinking about what they do.  The girls have been learning about labelling and planting their own seeds,  labelling their pots with their names as well as the name of the seed they have planted.

The girls have been thinking about language related to width and have been using their knowledge of sounds to write messages for their Mother's Day cards.  During "listening to learners" time they all shared their thoughts about why their mothers are so special to them. On Tuesday they had "buddy reading" with Year 2 and they all enjoyed reading and sharing stories with their learning friends.  On Wednesday PC Pope came to visit and they learnt about people who help them,  what to do when there is an emergency and how to cross the road safely.
