Karneval in Deutschland – Year 7

Year 7 learners of German had a special lesson this week, looking at the cultural phenomenon Karneval in Deutschland. Karneval starts on the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (November) every year, but the major festivities take place during Lent and in the run-up to Easter. The session was led by Year 13 Language Prefects who are currently working on their ‘Foreign Language Leaders Award’. The girls were treated to a colourful presentation, introduced to some new vocabulary and then created their own Karneval masks.
