A Spectacular Prep School Instrumental Evening

Everyone who attended yesterday’s Prep School Instrumental Evening was in for a treat. After a three year break due to the pandemic, over 30 students took part in what is one of the instrumental pinnacles of the Prep School year.

Performing to a large audience of parents and friends, the girls played a wide range of instruments, either as soloists, or as part of an ensemble and delighted everyone there. All of the instrumental ensembles took part, including the Prep Wind Band, String Machine, Shake, Rattle & Roll, two Band Skills groups, the Prep Flute Choir and the Prep School Orchestra. In addition, eleven soloists thoroughly entertained their audience with outstandingly polished performances.

The evening opened with distant sounds of a marching band approaching down the corridor as the Prep Wind Band paraded smartly into the hall playing When the Saints! The concert closed with an enthusiastic rendition of the well-known Beetles number, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La Da from the Prep School Orchestra.

Thank you to all the parents and friends who supported the event, to the girls who performed so superbly and to the staff who helped make the evening such a success.
