After last week's triumph for the Under 11 Tennis Team at the South Wales Green Tennis Finals, it was time for the Under 10s (Xinrong Z, Isabella C, Eloise H, Safia S-T) to take their turn on Monday 24th June to take part in the Orange Finals. Once again held at David Lloyd Leisure Centre, the team started well and defeated Ystrad Mynach Primary School (6-0) in the opener. The second match was thrilling, with Howell's splitting the six games with Swiss Valley Primary School (Llanelli) 3-3. As Howell's scored two more points than their opponents, they won the encounter and progressed to the last of their group games with two wins from two. After lunch, Howell's picked up another 6-0 win against Newton Primary School (Swansea) to set up a semi-final encounter with Evenlode (Vale of Glamorgan). Once again, the girls performed outstandingly well and won all six of their games to reach the final. Unsurprisingly, it was earlier opponents Swiss Valley Primary School who also reached the final, setting up another thriller. The matches were of a very high standard again, with lots of long rallies and timely winners. True to form, the games were split 3-3 once again but it was Swiss Valley who came out on top this time, with twelve more points than Howell's. A very impressive silver medal for the girls in what proved to be another excellent day of tennis!
