On the evening of Tuesday 18th June, the red carpet was rolled out for the third Champions’ Dinner in aid of the Martha Bursary Award. Following drinks in the Day Room and Drama Room, 130 guests made their way to the Great Hall where they were treated to a delicious three course dinner provided by our wonderful catering team. Before dinner was served, the roof of the Great Hall was raised when the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir, featuring our former Premises Manager Gary Lukins, performed a selection of Welsh songs and hymns to rapturous applause.
We were extremely privileged that this year’s guests were the Welsh rugby legend and former Wales captain, Sam Warburton, and the renowned Welsh tenor and presenter Wynne Evans of Go Compare fame, who had the audience laughing all the way home. Thank you to everyone who supported this hugely important evening which raised over £10,000 in memory of Martha. A special thank you to Mr Pinches, who took photographs during the evening, Mr and Mrs Turner, who provided the beautiful flowers, and Eversheds Sutherland, who sponsored the drinks reception. Thank you also to all the individuals and businesses who donation raffle and auction prizes.
