It was a pleasure to welcome back two Hywelians from the class of 1983, Nicola Allison (Chateau de Seuil vineyard in Bordeaux) and Katherine Spencer (Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company), on the evening of Friday 6th May to host a cheese and wine event. The evening began with a champagne reception which was generously sponsored by Fine Wines Direct. Guests then made their way to the Great Hall where Nicola and Katherine introduced themselves and paired four delicious Bordeaux wines with scrumptious cheeses made by Katherine’s company. Halfway through the evening guests competed in a quiz, which was hosted by Dr Knowles. It was a wonderful evening and a great example of the Howell’s community coming together as we were joined by Hywelians (a big contingent from the class of 1983), governors, staff and parents. Many thanks to Nicola and Katherine for so generously providing the cheese and tasting wine free of charge. Thank you also to all the staff who made the evening such a success.
