Year 1 Take Tea With Alice

On Tuesday 28th March, Year 1 hosted a wonderful ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Tea Party. They made invitations for their families, designed signs, created decorations and made shopping lists. On Monday, the girls worked hard to bake 100 scones and 100 fairy cakes, and on Tuesday morning the girls decorated their fairy cakes, dipped strawberries in chocolate and took time to make some delicious sandwiches.  The girls looked the part, as did our guests. They sang several songs, and performed ‘Stone Soup’ using percussion instruments, they have been working on this composition in music with Mr Beckett. Following the singing the girls took to the dance floor for some traditional Welsh folk dancing and they were so excited to be able to ask their families to dance with them!

Following the entertainment we all tucked into the delicious spread, there wasn’t much leftover for After School Care.  A huge thank you to Mrs Maidment, Mrs Holland, Miss Ashman, Mr Beckett, Laura, and all the many other members of staff that helped us on the day and also to Mrs Powell and Mrs Camilleri for your extra help too. A brilliant team effort!
