Huge congratulations to the six Year 5 girls who competed in the English Speaking Union competition on Monday. Jessica C, Emily T, Abigail S, Olivia W, Eleni S and Aseel G only had 5 days to write and prepare a full debate. Each team of three had a different statement to argue for or against. Abigail, Jess and Emily debated the statement: Schools should only provide healthy lunches. Eleni, Aseel and Oliva debated the statement: It is important to learn languages in school. All of the girls did a fantastic job on the night; they spoke clearly, confidently and argued their points very well! Well done to Oliva for being awarded ‘Best Chairperson’ of the night and to Jess for being awarded ‘Highly Commended Speaker’.
