Howell's fencers compete in British Youth Championships

Over the May Day holiday weekend,  Howell's fencers made their way to Sheffield for the British Youth Championships. This is an annual major event, attracting fencers from around the UK, all of whom had to qualify in their region  in order to be eligible to compete. Congratulations go to Heulen H. (Year 13) and member of the Welsh Foil Team) who narrowly missed a medal in the U18 Foil competition, coming a well-deserved 5th after a gruelling day of matches. Louise S. (Year 10) made her debut in this competition, competing in the U16 girls' epée. She was unfortunately knocked out of the competition in the 3rd round by the only other Welsh competitor (!), coming 25th out of 55. Congratulations also to Caitlin M. (Year 10) for an excellent effort in the U16 girls' sabre.
