On Thursday 19th November, Howell’s School hosted the Kids’ Lit Quiz, welcoming Quizmaster Wayne Mills from New Zealand and 26 teams from Welsh schools to compete for the title of Welsh Regional Heat winner. The Kids’ Lit Quiz celebrates the ‘sport of reading’ and challenges children’s knowledge of authors, poets and all things book related! It was a busy and lively event with tensions running high and we are delighted to announce that Howell’s Team "Peach" won (by just one point), securing their place in the UK final at Oxford Town Hall on Friday 4th December. Winners of the UK Final will be invited to the International Final in New Zealand in Summer 2016. You can follow progress of the team in Oxford by following the Howell’s Twitter feed #HSLLibrary.
A huge thank you to our volunteers Charlotte, Lara, Reem, Sadie, Sanaa, Ellie and Sonali for welcoming our guests and looking after them throughout the event and to Mrs Norman for preparing challenges and quizzes for the teams to tackle every week since September in readiness for the final!
