Two teams competed in the annual Youth Speaks Rotary Intermediate Competition on Tuesday, 26th January at Llanishen High School.
Team 1 was made up of Tabitha H. (Chairperson), Holly P. (Speaker) and Auvni P. (Vote of Thanks). Holly delivered her speech with confidence and panache: her topic was 'Success - an impossible dream?'
In Team 2, we had Jasneet D. (Chairperson), Manon G. (Speaker) and Alaina K. (Vote of Thanks).
Manon spoke with passion and commitment on 'Music: Is its influence for the better or the worse?' The girls came away bearing the 'Runners Up' title! Best of all, and the cherry on top of the proverbial cream cake, was that Jasneet D. won the prize for best Chairperson! Her cool as a cucumber charm and her graceful handling of the proceedings were what bowled the judges over!
Well done to all students, who worked so hard through many lunchtimes, to do us proud at this event!
