Following on from the very successful GDST 140th Anniversary Languages Spelling Bee held at Howell’s two years ago, Croydon High hosted a similar event on 22nd June. For some of our students it was their first competition; others were veterans of the National Year 7 Spelling Bee and the GDST Spelling Bee competition last year at Putney High. The girls competed in teams and had to spell as many of their 150 words as possible in the target language in one minute. With school examinations just a week or so before, there was some intense last-minute practising! Our students performed very well after a long journey, and were placed in four of the six competitions. Very well done, girls, and congratulations to all those who participated!
