Louise S. (Year 9) competed on 20th-21st June in her first ever Modern Pentathlon (fencing, shooting, swimming, running and show jumping). This was the British Championships in Solihull and Louise competed with her club ‘Pentathlon Hereford’ in the U15s. She is to be congratulated on a tremendous effort, coming 9th as an individual and winning silver with her team. Louise achieved maximum marks in show jumping – no easy feat as athletes had to ride unfamiliar horses (they drew lots!) and had 20 minutes to warm up, in which time they were only allowed to jump four practice fences before going into the jumping ring. All in all it was a fantastic experience.
