On Friday 3 July, six members from our Fairtrade team (Ziraili U., Zareena H., Barooj M., Razanne A., Rima A. and Amnah A.) attended a conference in Butetown, Cardiff where they participated in a variety of workshops to increase their knowledge of Fairtrade. These included Fairtrade Fashion and the manufacturing of Fairtrade tea in Malawi, and we were even lucky enough to FaceTime Samuel, a Ghanaian boy. This really showed us what a difference Fairtrade was making in today’s society, and how supporting it can improve the lives of so many. We even got to try some of the chocolate! This was an enjoyable day and the girls gained much understanding and many new ideas.
