This week has been National Careers week combined with National Apprenticeship week. E-mail communications have continued to go out to students informing them of the latest information available.
Year 10 and Year 11 have been visited by Mrs Karen Kimura who is Skills and Development officer at the Trust. She delivered her workshops on “Writing a CV” (Year 10) and “How to Make the Most of Work Experience” (Year 11). The opportunities to discuss the skills and qualities were very much welcomed by the students involved.
Year 10 were advised to start to prepare their CV now in preparation for Employers’ Day and Year 11 reminded that they need to be finalizing their work experience and returning HSLWEXFORM 2 from their employers by Wednesday 18th April.
A number of students in Year 8 are busy preparing an assembly to deliver to their peer group and Year 7 on their experiences during “Take Your Daughter To Work Day”. Winners of the poster competition will be announced in the assembly at the end of term.
There is a regular edition of the Inspiring Futures newsletter sent out to all Futurewise students which summarises key changes or news in the World of Work. Please advise your daughters and sons to check their mail daily as some of the opportunities for work experience or Insight events may be limited and need a speedy response.
Please be advised that students in Year 10 will be taking their electronic Futurewise profile on May 8th.They will each have an individual interview lasting 30 minutes with our Inspiring Futures team, led by Mrs Jane Johns, in the following week. Employers’ Day will then take place Tuesday July 10th.
