Careerstart

Year 9 were stimulated into discussion during their Careerstart session with Karen Kimura who is the GDST's Learning and Development Officer. The focus was on the skills and qualities needed when choosing subject options. Some of the considerations were about researching information for different pathways via apprenticeship or university, branding ourselves and developing flexibility of thought in our decision making. This informative session will be further enhanced next week when  the Careers team deliver a reflective and guidance session to the option choice process and Year 12 subject ambassadors will be present to interact with Year 9 to answer any questions about study in specific subjects.

"It made us think about questioning decisions before making a final choice." Meg G & Elinor H

"It drew our attention to the drawbacks and benefits of apprenticeships versus university."
Aleezah K, Ellie M, Himani K & Nadia S-T
