After a hard week of exams, Year 8 were treated to a life drawing session with Disney. They initially made quick studies in pencil and pen, which they then used to make large A2 charcoal and pastel drawings. They looked at the work of artist Nicola Hicks to see how she uses charcoal and pastels to capture the form and animation of animals in preparation for her sculptures. The girls also drew from photos of Disney and were able to see the benefits from drawing from life. Disney was an excellent model and we are hoping she will join us again for drawings in the future.
