English Department Excitement

Many congratulations to the students whose poems were selected to represent Howell's in the Laurie Magnus Poetry Prize 2017. This prestigious GDST creative writing competition was established in memory of Laurie Magnus, who was a GDST Council member from 1907, and Chairman from 1929 until his death in 1933. He also authored The Jubilee Book of the Girls’ Day School Trust (1923). 

Prizes are awarded to six age groups for original poetry, and the following students have had their poems selected to be entered into the competition.

•   Years 1 and 2 - Francesca H (Y2)
•  Years 3 and 4 - Aleyna J (Y4)
•  Years 5 and 6 - Meghan S (Y6)
•  Years 7, 8 and 9 - Tabitha H (Y8)
•  Years 10 and 11 - Amani KA (Y10)
•  Years 12 and 13 -  Harriet W (Y13)
