Founders’ Day and the Thomas Howell Break 2018

During the morning of Friday 6th July, we celebrated Founders’ Day with a special assembly for the whole school, College and specially invited guests. During Assembly, we celebrated the ways we have, over the last school year, built on the foundations laid by Thomas Howell more than 500 years ago. We also said goodbye to Glen Fendley, the GDST’s Head of Development,  who has left the GDST to pursue his own fundraising consultancy.  Glen has been hugely supportive to Howell’s and we will miss him enormously, but are delighted that he has agreed to become a Friend of Howell’s so we look forward to seeing him at events in the future. Following assembly, everyone enjoyed a lovely selection of treats during the Thomas Howell Break. We were delighted to welcome over 40 Hywelians, Governors, Friends and major donors for this very special day, and all our guests were invited to enjoy the Thomas Howell break in the recently completed Sports Pavilion, a venue that has been made possible by the generosity of so many members of our community.
