International Women’s Day 2018

Howell’s was a hive of activity on Thursday 8th March, with the postponed Eisteddfod taking over the Senior School for the whole day, and celebrations for International Women’s Day 2018 continuing in the Hub.

By 9.30am we'd had more than one hundred visitors to our Mothers' Day Breakfast, as students brought their mums, grandmas and female carers to the Hub to enjoy a light breakfast and a pleasant start to their day. We were delighted to see so many people chatting over coffee and croissants, getting to know the parents of students in different year groups to their own, exchanging opinions, sharing ideas and making new friends.

In the afternoon, we were joined by several members of the Penylan branch of the Women's Institute, who enjoyed a vintage tea in the Hub with Mrs Yilmaz and Mrs Eling, followed by a brief tour of the school Museum and the Great Hall.

Many thanks to all the staff, students, parents, alumni and friends who made the day so successful and helped us to raise funds for Welsh Women's Aid.
