Sibling success: highlights from the Public Schools Fencing Competition

Sisters Amelie and Ellie had an exhilarating three days at this year's Public Schools Fencing Competition, which boasted an impressive turnout of over 1300 competitors. Amelie (Year 13) showcased her skills by securing 5th place in both the Senior Foil and Sabre categories and clinching 1st place in Epee. Her outstanding performance led her to share the top spot in the Senior Girls Champion of Arms. Meanwhile, Ellie (Year 11) also demonstrated commendable effort, achieving her highest rank at 14th in Junior Epee. Their combined efforts resulted in their school winning the 1st prize for the highest points scored by a school with fewer than 15 fencers. Additionally, they claimed the GDST Cup and secured 2nd place in the girls' league, despite having only 2 fencers.
