Spring has sprung in Year 2 this week with the arrival of eggs on Monday. Farmer Sam from Eggseeds brought the girls eight eggs in an incubator. He spoke to the girls about how to look after the eggs and keep the conditions in the incubator stable. All the girls got to look at an egg individually and by shining a torch near the eggs they were able to see where the airsac was within the shell and the blood vessels of the growing chick inside. By Wednesday morning the girls arrived in school to find the first chick had hatched and throughout the day three more joined us! It's been a busy few days since, with new arrivals, and the chicks are now all running around in their large cage. The girls will enjoy looking after them for a few more days before Sam collects them and takes them back to his farm.
