Take Your Daughter To Work Day—The Follow-up

A few of our Year 8 students volunteered to hone their presentation skills and deliver an assembly to Year 7. The team prepared Power Point slides outlining a summary of their day out at work whilst accompanying their parents for Take Your Daughter to Work Day. Year 7 listened attentively to insights covering visits to ENT surgery, Midwifery, Law, Marketing and Events management, Dental clinics and Neurosurgery. They can now look forward to their own day at work when they are in Year 8. Thank you to our Year 8 volunteers Lydia P, Anu O, Fizzah I, Hannah J, Veda L and Tilly P.

Two of our Year 7 students shared their thoughts:

"I really enjoyed listening about the Midwifery because I liked how enthusiastic Lydia was about the activities she had experienced and I am now very excited for next year when I go to work with my Mum. I think it will be a great experience because it will teach us to have a bit more responsibility and appreciate the value of money." Frankie J

"It made me think about what my parents do in their day at work and why sometimes they come home tired. It is motivating to know the skills I am learning at school will help me in my future career plans."
