University of South Wales KS3 and KS4 Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses 2018

Congratulations to Abhavya A, Jennifer E, Georgia G, Rhianne H, Sarah H, Sri O, Auvni P and Emily W in Year 9 and Ayesha A, Larisa B, Siani K, Tania N and Angona S in Year 10. The girls have been  presented with a certificate at a recent Awards Ceremony for their participation in the Mathematics Masterclasses at the University of South Wales last term. The programme of classes, which took place on Saturday mornings, included Mathematical Puzzles, Maths in the Movies, Knots and Dots, Maths at the Races, Origami Mathematics, Sedoc Terces (Secret Codes!), Juggling Mathematics and Medicinal Mathematics.
Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses are designed to encourage, inspire and engage students in the art and practice of mathematics. The highly interactive sessions introduce students to aspects or applications of Maths which may not be covered in the school curriculum, and open students' eyes to the excitement, beauty and real-world value of Mathematics.
