Last week Year 2 continued their topic work around China. They have read the Fable of the Two Doves and looked at traditional willow pattern plates, which normally include common characteristics from the story painted on them. This week the girls were thrilled to welcome Mrs Lock into class, who is a ceramics artist and helped the girls to paint their own pictures onto ceramic plates using inks. The girls all enjoyed the art session; finding out about the history behind the iconic images, painting with different materials and appraising their work. Mrs Lock also thoroughly enjoyed her morning at Howell’s!
